Producer Researcher Musician
Exoglove began as a way to keep musical control on the body. That led to a larger question: can an interface learn the way a particular musician moves, instead of asking every person to adapt to the same mapping?

I’m Haoran Hou, based in New York. I hold a B.M. in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music and am pursuing graduate study in music and music education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
My practice moves between music-making and tool-building: arranging, production, live systems, wearable sensing, and personalized musical interaction.

View details ↗I recently joined Mark Santolucito’s group and am beginning with the MaxPy and MaxPyLang codebases. My exact contribution is still being defined.
I plan to connect motion-sensing work with Andrew Gordon’s research group. The research task is not yet fixed, so I’m treating this as a direction rather than a result.
This is my longer-term idea for an assistant that learns a musician’s gestures and workflow. Accessibility is one application, but the broader goal is personal musical control.
