Exoglove

Exoglove uses flex sensors, touch, and wrist motion to control sound.  The software pipeline for individual calibration exists; real-hardware testing and participant evaluation are coming.

THE QUESTION

Exoglove asks whether a wearable musical interface can adapt to an individual player instead of forcing every player into one fixed gesture map. The current prototype combines finger flex, textile touch, and wrist motion with a Bela-based sensing and sound-control pipeline. The next stage is hardware validation, followed by a small study comparing fixed and per-user mappings.

APPROACH & NEXT STEP

The planned comparison includes direct knob control, a fixed gesture mapping, and a rapidly calibrated per-user mapping. Measures will examine control accuracy, calibration effort, re-donning stability, and the player’s sense of agency. Hardware and pilot results will determine the final protocol.
